Youngsters show a lot of maturity in handling sensitive topics while making films, says Bollywood actor Rahul Bose of 'Jhankar Beats', 'Chameli' and the recent 'Pyar Ke Side Effects' fame.

Rahul was speaking at the launch of Dev Benegal's concept of 24X7 filmmaking wherin youngsters could collect equipment for making a film in 24 hours. The equipment is being provided by Panasonic while the editing equipment is being provided by Apple Macintosh.

Rahul said," It is a great concept. Formally, filmmaking was considered as a vocation of the rich which is not true anymore. Of course they have to do a lot of homework so that they do not waste raw stock. It is the demystification of the film process. It is amazing how the youngsters know about the length, technical aspects, the cinematics of the film and the way to strike an emotional chord."

This year's concept for making films is 'Laughter' and 'Terror', said Rahul. "It is amazing how they have interpreted the process by making films on violence, terror, darkness and the sub consciousness. Of course going by their age, they have been a little impatient, but that is OK. They have shown that they are wise beyond their years."

There is a jury comprising people like Farhan Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Soha Ali Khan and Sudhir Mishra who will judge the films made by the contestants and the top three will be awarded on October 9.

Rahul Bose who has confined himself only to doing art and off beat films like 'English August', "Split Wide Open" and 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' says, "It has been a conscious effort to stay away from mainstream commercial cinema."

Rubbishing rumours that he had reservations working with Mallika Sherawat in the recent 'Pyar Ke Side Effects' Rahul said, "My only condition is that my co stars should put in hardwork in the project, I work hard and so does Mallika, so I have no issues at all."

Rahul who left a lucrative career in advertising to join films says, "I took up advertising only to pay the bills but my real love was films. That is why I quit advertising and in films I am living my dream."
