Vijayakanth has been caught right royally in the income tax raids in his house.
His ways in real life are so much in contrast to his reel life where he fights for honesty and justice.
The day before yesterday, IT authorities raided Vijayakanth's house, party office & marriage hall in Chennai, his brother-in-law's house, his cousin's house, his relatives in Madurai and Cuddalore, His Andal Azhagar Engineering College in Mamandur, as well as his relatives owning properties in Pondicherry area.
It was discovered that Vijayakanth and his wife have neither filed returns or paid taxes for assets worth 4 crores and 85 lakhs.
A medical college built by a relative's Trust in Pondicherry has utilized 45 crores but out of that, about 9 crores did not come into account properly. Similarly, bank loans and documents were also not in order. Proper explanations for this were also not forthcoming. Moreover, the Trust has loaned 1 crore 75 lakhs to people and no proper explanations given for this either.
Last night, raids were conducted well past midnight in Vijayakanth's relative's house in Ashok Nagar and 3 places belonging to their educational institutions.
