The union health minister Anbumani Ramdoss ha been making repeated appeals to the film industry to stop showing smoking and drinking scenes in films.
While superstar Rajnikanth oblige the minister, Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have mad it clear that it may not be possible to do so.
Now Puri Jagannath seems to have shown his defiance by showing smoking scenes very prominently in ‘BMIC”. Puri has not only shown Mohan Babu with a cigar between his lips all the time but he has also shown hero Prabhas puffing away in gay abandon on more than one occasion.
But what takes the cake is that the heroine in the film ‘Trisha’ is also shown smoking and blowing smoke, as if in the face of the minister!
It remains to be seen how Anbumani Ramdoss reacts to this now.
