The boundaries between Bollywood and downsouth are fast blurring.
Making the inroads into Hindi film industry are actresses from southern cinema. Asin has already taken a headstart and is doing Ghajini (Hindi) with Aamir Khan and London Dreams with Salman Khan .
Now, Shriya Saran , the belle who starred with Rajnikant in the superhit Sivaji , is on a roll. Bollywood producers and directors seem to be lining outside her door to sign her after she made a notable debut in the Bhatts’ Awarapan .
Shriya already plays Zayed Khan ’s wife in the upcoming thriller Mission Istanbul . Not just this, she is playing a plum role opposite Canadian actor Jesse Metcalfe in Ashok Amritraj’s English movie ‘The Other End of the Line’.
If anything was left, add to the list Deepa Mehta’s next film ‘What’s Cooking’.
And though Shriya wants to get a firmer foothold in Bollywood, she would not cut her ties with South cinema.
