Zayed Khan visited a casino in Austria to learn gambling for his role in Subhash Ghai's Yuvraj



Bollywood is warming up to the theory of being thoroughly prepared to play the part. So if a Shilpa Shetty is learning to play the violin for The Man and Vivek Oberoi had hired a tutor to learn Turkish for his role of a Turkish Commander in Mission Istanbul, Zayed Khan has visited a casino in Austria to learn the nitty-gritties of gambling, for his role of a gambler in Subhash Ghai's Yuvraj.

Says Zayed Khan, "Yuvraj is a hi-fi musical film with a lot of grandeur. While Katrina Kaif has learnt to play the cello, I have learnt to gamble for the film." Learning gambling was all the more important for Zayed as he has been an unlucky card player while gambling during Diwali So the actor learnt all card games including poker during the four days that he spent in a casino.

Zayed tries hard to sound methodical and meticulous about his preparation. When you tell him method acting can't be any fun, he laughs and says, "While others have to go into all kinds of unpleasant places to prepare for a role, I get to go to a casino. To me, this method acting was fun."

With this film, Zayed is hoping to change his action hero image to a romantic one.

Though Zayed is kicked about his roles in his forthcoming films, what remains incomparable to his screen roles is his real life role of a father. The doting father has already made tall plans for his son, Zidaan (around seven months). Zayed says, "I have made it very clear to my family that I am going to be an indulgent father. The others in the family can take on the task of disciplining him. I am going to be his friend — the one who will never let him down."
