Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who had a successful run at the box office last year with his films garnering over Rs 500 crore worldwide on Sunday said that his success lies at his parents' feet. "Business of Indian cinema is growing higher and higher and I feel proud that I am one of the responsible person for it," he told reporters here.
The actor, who would perform a rap number from his forthcoming film 'Singh is king' at the IIFA awards tonight, witnessed a string of successes like 'Namastey London', 'Heyy Babyy' and 'Welcome' in 2007. He said he enjoyed action as well as comedy genre of films.
When asked about a doctorate honour to him from the University of Windsor in Canada, Akshay said he himself was surprised at the honour bestowed on him recently. "I must be the least educated doctor," he added. When asked about the television show 'fear factor' scheduled to go on air on Viacom's new entertainment channel 'Colors', the actor said the show had changed the attitude of the leading ladies of small and big screen, khiladis as they are called, who are the participants towards life. "Two of the participants are mothers. This only goes to prove what I always believed that women are stronger than men," he added.
