Chief minster Y S Rajashekar Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of International Technolgy at Nuzuvidu in Krishna district yesterday. The institute will get a funding of 150 crore this year and about 900 crore over a period of time. The institute will be bigger than some of the universities in the state.

The state government proposes to set up three such IIITs in the state. We now have the pattern of two years Intermediate followed by four years of engineering course. But in the IIITs, the government proposes to change this and make it into a six-year integrated engineering course. Student will be admitted after they complete SSC.
