Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock have finally plunged into Bollywood and are designing for the film ‘Aap Ki Khatir.’ They have worked on two songs picturised on Priyanka Chopra.
In fact, Priyanka seems to be their latest muse. The gorgeous actor has just modelled for their next campaign. In the past, Manish Malhotra, Nawaz Modi Singhania and Rita Dhody have shot for their campaigns. The designers had created some outfits for Priyanka for a wedding in Goa. The actor was so impressed that she roped them in for the film.
Says Falguni, “We have been so tied up with our own label that we have never had the time to look at films earlier. But even today designing for films full-time seems a remote possibility.
We decided to do these two songs because there is more scope to be imaginative and creative. Hindi films songs have that dream-like quality.”
No just Priyanka , even style diva Sushmita Sen has been dressed by them for a song in ‘Zindagi Rocks’.
Explains Shane, “Sushmita is somebody who is successful and has a very powerful personality. Working with such stars adds a certain feather in our caps.”
Of course, it’s still premature to say that we will see more of Shane and Falguni Peacock on celluloid. Says Falguni, “Films do lend a certain posterity to your work and it is seen again and again, but then we will not do films for just any actor or for the heck of it. It has to be something challenging.”
Even Shane is very clear on that. “We are not costume designers. We are full-fledged fashion designers, who have made a certain place for ourselves in the fashion industry. We will do films only if its adds to our credibility.”
