The actress says she has never bought her 5-year-old son any new clothes
Sarah Jessica Parker has never bought her son any clothes. The Sex and the City star insists James , her five-year-old son with husband Matthew Broderick, never wears new garments, because he gets cast offs from his older relatives.
She said, “ James only wears hand-me-downs because I’ve got all these older nephews. That’s the God’s honest truth, Plus, my mother saved all my brothers’ clothes. I am not kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. Maybe a new winter’s coat, but that’s it!”
Parker insists she does buy James the things he really needs — like shoes. She added, “I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different.” The 43-year-old actress also doesn’t want James to ever become a spoiled child because of his famous parents.
She told Parade magazine, “I think that if I had been raised a child of privilege, I wouldn’t be the working person I am today. I think it’s really important for Matthew and me to show James by example what it means to owe your community something and that he is not entitled to the benefits of our hard work.
