Actor Rohit Roy has turned director with Sanjay Gupta’s forthcoming film Dus Kahaniyaan. He will be directing one of the short stories called Rice Plate and is currently in the process of finalizing the cast. The buzz is that he is planning to rope in Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah for the principal roles.

When asked his about the same, he says, “My wish list includes Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles as they fit the bill. Though I haven’t signed them but yes I am going to approach them soon, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Rice Plate is pretty unique title, given by Mr. Gupta himself. It’s about a Hindu lady and her interaction with a Muslim gentleman.”

Rohit will also be directing his first home production film very soon. Speaking about the same he says, “My first film will be about Mumbai city. It’s again a slice of life film. It’s about love, lust and relationships in Mumbai. How normal people go through abnormal situations when it comes to love and lust. It’s a very interesting piece. I will start my film post Sanjay Gupta’s Alibaug.” Talking about Alibaug, he adds, “It’s again a Sanjay Gupta film. It’s a semi autobiographical film. It’s about Sanjay Gupta and his set of friends and what he went through with lot of them.” he informs.

Rohit is currently, shooting for Apoorva Lakhia‘s Shootout at Lokhandwala. “I play an underworld goon. His name is Fatim and he is called Fatoo by the gang” Rohit also stars in Gubbare, which is one of the stories from Dus Kahaniyaan. Gubbare stars Nana Patekar, Rohit and Natassha.

Speaking about his association with Sanjay Gupta he says, “My association with Sanjay Gupta is much more than professional. We share a bond much more than a producer and an actor. White Feather films is like my home production and I am proud to be part of it, not because they give me work but because they make quality stuff, the kind of cinema that I believe in and I would love to be in. I am also directing their next film which is going to be rolling from September or October.”
