 A unique movie will be launched with a customary pooja on the 5th of this month at the AVM studios. Titled Maayandi Kudumbathar, this film has created quite a bit of interest within industry circles because it will have more than 10 directors in front of the camera, playing big and small roles. The bulk of the spotlight will be on Tarun Gopi (Timiru, Kaalai fame) who will be playing the lead role. He will be accompanied in key roles by Manivannan and G M Kumar. The heroine, however, will be a new face which suggests that there are not enough lady directors in Kollywood, V. Priya being the only name that comes to mind. Other directors who have agreed to be part of the project are Nantha Periyasamy, Ravimariya, Rajkapoor, Seeman, Jaganath, Ponvannan and Singampuli. It cannot escape one's notice that most of these directors are established actors in their own right but the point of interest is the coming together of all of them in one movie. Ironically, for a movie featuring so many directors in front of the camera, the director of this movie, Raju Mathuravan has chosen to stay away from the screen. The effect of more Telugu-directors-felicitate-Dasari  The Andhra Pradesh Film Directors' Association had felicitated popular director and Union minister Dasari Narayana Rao on the occasion of the completion of silver jubilee of their association. Speaking on the occasion Dasari says, 'A real Telugu director would prepare the story first and then directs a movie. The present generation directors should prove this. Instead of going to sets with a mere one or two sentences of storyline and developing at a latter stage should be avoided. The young directors make very good films on a low budget. Dasari said that Tollywood also needs such creative directors who can make movies on small budget. He was speaking on the occasion of the 100 days celebration of the film 'Aadivaram Aadavallaku Selavu'. Dasari said that the film was made on a budget of just 96 lakhs and it made business worth Rs. 4 crore. Superstar Mohanlal, general secretary of AMMA, said that he never had any talks with MACTA or Vinayan and would support all those directors who had come out of the federation. He took them to task for their approach towards new directors. The occasion was the audio launch of Sakkarakatti held in Chennai last week. Rahul of Happy Days fame and Sonal Chouhan are the lead actors in Rainbow. Top directors like SS Rajamouli, Samudra, Kodi Ramakrishna and Srinu Vaitla will make an appearance in the film. Sonal Chouhan plays a wannabe actress in the film. She does the rounds of studios and meets these top directors and woos them to sign her up for their next projects.
