Reincarnation sagas don't always sell but Farah Khan had full faith in her film. Who wouldn't with a topless SRK on their side?
Reincarnation sagas and Bollywood rarely get along but director Farah Khan's love for the genre made her go ahead with Om Shanti Om anyway.
But she never doubted the formula would lead her film to success.
"Though reincarnation had never worked in Bollywood, I was not jittery to take it up," Khan said. "It might sound overconfidence to you but really I knew my film would be a hit."
Om Shanti Om , a spoof of Bollywood in the 1970s, has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
The film tells the story of a struggling junior actor - played by Shah Rukh Khan - who dies and is reincarnated in the present day.
He tries to solve the mystery of his death and find the ladylove from his past life.
