Veteran playback singer M.G. Sreekumar has come a long way from a bank officer to a well-known singer today. He made his debut in films with Coolie; since then, there has been no looking back. He won two National Awards and three State Awards for best singer.

He has worked as a singer in several films directed by his school mate Priyadarshan, the latest one being the Hindi film Bhool Bhulaiyaan. He took up music direction with the Malayalam films Achanayaanenikkishtam and Thandavam.

Sreekumar is now making his debut as a music director in Tamil with a Priyadarshan film, Kanchipuram. He will also helm the music for the Tamil films Paraya Paraya Pattanam and another movie to be produced by Seven Arts.
