Adlabs Films and Sujatha cine arts, held a screening of two songs from their Kireedam, for the press at Four Frames preview theatre in Chennai on Tuesday evening. The two songs are beautifully picturised, Ajit and Trisha have never looked so good on screen, G.V Prakash's music rocks!

Song 1- Kanavellam….., sung by Jayachandran and Karthik, picturised on Ajit and Raj Kiran.

It is picturised on Raj Kiran and Ajit, who are playing father and son in the film. Na.Muthukumar's lyrics tell us about the aspirations and dreams that a father has for his son. There is a storyboard for the song, and the bonding between Raj Kiran and Ajit comes out well, especially the scene in the training session where the son gasps for breadth as the father provides him with an energizer. Later the son now more fit and raring to go repeats the act, with the father at the receiving end! It is a melody, feel good song, that has been sung with so much feeling by Jayachandran and Karthik. Prakash's use of flute in the background makes it sublime. The director A.L Vijay through the song has been able to convey the basic theme of the film beautifully.

Song 2- Akkam Pakkam…, sung by Sadhana Sargam and picturised on Ajit and Trisha

It is a dream song, which starts when Ajit, Trisha and their families go on an outing to the movies. The heroine starts thinking only if she could get her lover all alone probably in a deserted island. Cut! We are taken to the lush green Kerala, to Vagamon and the backwaters around Kuttanad, where the lovers have fun and frolic. Thiru's camera is sheer poetry, the top angle shot of a 200 square feet island, with two coconut trees, and with water all around is mesmerizing. The song has been well conceived a mixture of backwaters with wooded forest areas. Sadhana Sargam’s hushed rendition, Prakash's instrumentation makes it a winner. Trisha looks beautiful in the song.

Kireedam songs on big screen is a delight to watch. Let us hope the story telling lives up to its packaging.
