Ravi Chopra’s Baabul was ridden with problems thanks to tension between his lead heroes John Abraham and Salman Khan. Now, the director is facing similar problems with his next, Bhootnath. Apparently, the cold war between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan has delayed the film. A source informs, “SRK is no longer interested in doing Bhootnath, where he’d been pencilled in for a cameo.”
Big B ne lock kiya
Says an insider, “Ravi will have to replace SRK or ensure he doesn’t share scenes with Amitabh. The two have many scenes together, but SRK does not want to share screen space with the Big B anymore.”
But producer Ravi Chopra denies the development. He says, “As far as I know, SRK’s doing my film. He has scenes with Mr. Bachchan, but the delay isn’t from SRK’s side. It’s because Mr Bachchan’s mother is not well. We were supposed to start shooting from December 15, but have postponed it to January 10.”
While we’re inclined to trust him, the story’s a tad unbelievable considering Amitabh has been shooting for Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay. And the shooting began in early December.
Bhootnath stars Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Satish Shah and Rajpal Yadav. Directed by Vivek Sharma, a director outside the BR Films camp will wield the baton for the first time .
