Salman Khan's 's latest love bird Katrina Kaif who entered into Bollywood via 'Boom' and later had her hits in ' Namastey London' and 'Partner' is very excited these days and is confident of making a dent in her filmi career. She has picked up Hindi quite well and may therefore not need dubbing any more. Not only that, she has also entered into South Indian films.

At present, she is busy shooting Malayalam movie soon after recording a success in a Telugu one. Like her other colleagues, Katrina is looking forward to doing offbeat movies in future.

After all, money isn't all though it matters a lot; but one needs job satisfaction, too. Just before undergoing a terrible time following a Jodhpur court sending her fiancé Salman Khan to jail for killing a chinkara several years ago, one of the very few young and pretty Bollywood actors has expressed her wish to do offbeat and period films. During her chat with the media, she has hoped that very soon the movie goers in India would shift their attention towards such movies.

Excerpts of the interview:

Are you happy with your career growth?

Yes, I am. The viewers have been changing their mind about my work after watching my performance in her recently released movies ' Namastey London' and 'Partner'. They have changed the viewers mind towards my work. And, to maintain their confidence in me, I need to work harder.

What are you doing at present?

I have very recently signed a Malayalam movie though I have done a Telugu one in the recent past.

What made you shift to South Indian cinema?

In fact, this Malayalam movie will provide me an opportunity to work with south India's famous star Mamooty. This is a matter of privilege for me.

What about your Hindi movies?

I am still busy in Hindi movies like Anees Bazmi's 'Welcome' and Abbas-Mastan's 'Race'. Besides, I have several other Hindi film offers. However, I am looking towards offbeat and period movies.

Would you decline commercial movies?

No, I shall not, as one needs money to maintain oneself. And, offbeat movies go well with the viewers at present.

Do you foresee future for offbeat movies?

Yes, I do. I am sure that very soon the viewers will shift to offbeat movies. However, it may take some time.

Which is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is ' Namastey London'. I am very happy to be a part of this movie. I want to concentrate on such movies.

What do you check before signing a movie?

I choose a movie on the basis of my character in it. This is vital for me.

What do you think about present cinema?

Indian cinema has a bright future. The movie goers will soon shift to offbeat from commercial cinema. At present, there are hardly ten or fifteen persons in theaters watching offbeat movies. Hopefully, the scenario will change fast.
