The TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao has done a big favour to the Congress and the TDP by forcing the by polls. The results have greatly helped his bitter rivals, YS Rajashekar Reddy and Chandra Babu Naidu.
The congress has put up a good show and this has strengthened the hands of chief minister Ys Rajashekar Reddy. This is a testing time for YSR and the results have boosted his morale an also helped him to consolidate his position in the party.
The senior party leaders like G Venkataswamy, Uppunoothala Purushottam Reddy, even the maverick MSR and Hari Rama Jogaiah will now have no option but to remain silent. Their voice will no longer carry weight with the high command and this will greatly help YS to concentrate on governance and implement hi pet projects like 2 rupees rice, Indiramma housing etc.
Babu is also very happy with the results. Even though the vote percentage has come down, the victory in five assembly and one Lok Sabha seats has brought back life into the TDP. The dissidence will now come down and the wavering Telangana leaders in the party will now drop the idea of quitting the TDP.
