 Gopika now plays Mohanlal's heroine in Alibhai. She had acted with Mammootty as his heroine in a couple of films. She had already starred with Dileep and Jayaram. It is now her turn to star with Mohanlal. Alibhai is going to have her starring as Mohanlal's heroine for the first time in her career. The film's shooting begins very soon in Kozhikode and Mangalapuram. Though Gopika had already starred with Mohanlal in 'Keerthichakra', she did not play his pair. Lakshmi Gopalswamy was his leading lady in the movie.

The film was originally scheduled to hit the screen on June 25 but it will now be released on July 10. She plays a doctor who runs a mobile boat clinic on Godavari treating patients living in the small islands in the river. The Galla Thick Mango Nectar is a product of Galla Foods, a division of the INR 1300 crore Amar Raja Group. Chairman of the group, Ramachandra N Galla said that the product would be introduced in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the current year. The function was attended by a galaxy of dignitaries, including a host of films stars like Nagarajuna, Amala and Shreya. The group has set up a big plant on a 100 acre site in Chittoor district.
