 Popular playback singers Mallikarjuna Rao and Gopika Purnima tied their nuptial knot at Appanna Kalyanamandapam in Simhachalam near Visakhapatnam. Both of them proved good singers through ‘Paaduthaa… Teeyagaa…’, a television programme organized by popular playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam in ETV. Later, they became playback singers in the Telugu film industry. Mallikarjuna Rao belongs to Gopalapatnam of Visakhapatnam, while Gopika Purnima belonged to Vizianagaram. Both the singers fell in love with each other. However, they convinced their parents and got united with their blessings. Relatives of both the bride and bridegroom, besides several other well-wishers, attended the marriage. Immediately after their marriage, the couple offered prayers to Lord Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Simhachalam. Popular playback singer SP Sailaja, lyricist Bhuvanachandra, Chandramohan’s wife Jalandhara were among those who attended the marriage. Besides, local MLC Daadi Veerabhadra Rao, MLA Dronamraju Srinivas, former MLA Pethakamsetti Ganababu also blessed the couple.

The film was originally scheduled to hit the screen on June 25 but it will now be released on July 10. Venu is the hero and the film is set with a rural backdrop with river Godavari playing a key role. Kamalini Mukherjee is the heroine. She plays a doctor who runs a mobile boat clinic on Godavari treating patients living in the small islands in the river. Chakry has scored the music and the audio more Gopika-joins-Mammootty  Gopika, who was seen with Mammootty in the superhit Mayavi released last year, has joined the superstar this year again for Anwar Rasheed’s Annan Thambi, being shot in Pollachi. The TTD officials finally made proper arrangements and the marriage party was accommodated at TSR and other private guesthouses. She had acted with Mammootty as his heroine in a couple of films. She had already starred with Dileep and Jayaram. It is now her turn to star with Mohanlal. Alibhai is going to have her starring as Mohanlal's heroine for the first time in her career. The film's shooting begins very soon in Kozhikode and Mangalapuram. Though Gopika had already starred with Mohanlal in 'Keerthichakra', she did not play his pair. Lakshmi Gopalswamy was his leading lady in the more Gopika-left-the-film-industry  Gopika now statred her married life. She displyed lots of talent thrugh her characters and was shining like a queen in the South Indian Film Industry Gopika married and left the film industry, you must have thought. But not quite yet. The lovely actress has one more release, Rajamudra, a dubbed version of the original Telugu Veedu Maamulodu Kaadu in which she played the lead role. The association has announced this award in honor of the Late Padmini Ramachandran who was a long time member of the association. Gopika, the young beauty, is one of the successful heroines in the South Indian Film Industry.
