On 10th April, the Madras High Court today lifted the stay on the release of Kamal Hassan movie Dasavatharam, directed by K.S. Ravikumar, produced by Oscar Ravichandran featuring Kamal Haasan in ten different roles. Earlier, Senthil Kumar from Tambaram had filed a petition seeking a stay on the film claiming that it was his original story. As a result, the hon'ble Court had placed a stay against the release of the said film.
In their counter filed with the court, Oscar Films and Kamal Haasan had described the plaintiff's allegations as "false, fictitious, frivolous and mischievous". The confirmed the storyline was based only on their original ideas.
Judge Ramasubramaniam of the Madras High Court, after carefully scrutinizing both scripts declared that they were completely different plots, so lifted the existing stay and dismissed the said petition.
So one more hurdle is cleared and we can hope to see Dasavatharam soooooon.
