Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC) and Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) in São Paulo, Brazil is organising the Indian Film Festival in the country to promote tourism from India there. The festival will be held between March 6-11 (2007), corresponding with a major trade exposition.

It will showcase prominent Bollywood films including Yash Chopra’s ‘Dhoom 2’ which was the first Indian film to be shot in Brazil (on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro). The other films to be screened at the festival include Aditya Chopra’s ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jayenge’, Mani Ratnam’s ‘A Peck on the Cheek’, Santosh Sivan’s ‘The Terrorist’ and Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Krrish’.

It may be recalled that Hrithik Roshan’s debut film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ was shot in New Zealand. The film’s super success made the country a major tourist attraction. The Brazilian trade hopes for the same after-effects.

Indian filmmaker and producer Ram Prasad Devineni (AIC) has launched a website called bollywoodbrazil.com to promote Brazil as a locale for Bollywood films.
