AICC chief Sonia Gandhi termed PJR's death as a big loss to the congress party. News of PJR’s death spread like wild fire and supporters assembled in thousands outside the hospital within a short time. The traffic came to a standstill on the minister’s road. All shops and establishments in the Khairatabad area downed their shutters voluntarily as a mark of respect to the late leader.

PJR’s recently went to the house of Chiranjeevi to offers his condolences over the death of Chiranjeevi’s father. No one knew that within less than a week, PJR himself would be no more.
