The Pakistan People’s Party Leader and former prime minister of Pakistan Ms. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated at an election rally in Rawalpindi this evening. About 30 people were also killed in the suicide bomb attack. Bhutto died due to bullet shot wounds in her chest and shoulders.

Following the news of Bhutto’s assassination, the government of India ahs issued a high alert across the country. The police in Hyderabad have also been put on high alert. Many people in Hyderabad received the news of the assassination with great shock and grief. Benazir Bhutto is very popular in India and is seen as a friend of India.
