Balu Mahendra has come out of his self imposed exile and decided to direct a film after a long time. His new venture titled ‘Anal Kaatru’ has been launched along with director Rajeshwar’s new venture ‘Indira VIzha’. Both films are produced by ANKK Movies, which has produced films in different languages.

'Indira Vizha' and 'Anal Kaatru' are produced by Ashok K Godwani under the banner of ANKK movies. Pooja rituals were followed with a dance show by a young troupe, Dev’s Dance School. Select scenes from the films of Balu Mahendra and K Rajeshwar were screened as the prelude to the event.

Though the cast has not yet been finalized for 'Anal Kaatru', the music will be done by none other than Ilayaraja, announced Balu Mahendra."I wanted to get out of direction and start a cinema school. That took some time. I met Rajeshwar then. He told me that if I became a teacher, I would wither and I should get back to directing films. That struck me as making sense. It was Rajeshwar who got me the opportunity to direct 'Anal Katru,'" said Balu Mahendra.

Rajeshwar has penned script for films like Aval Appatiththaan. He has directed many distinctive films like Amaran and Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi.

Bollywood director Rajkumar Santoshi, for whom Rajeshwar has written scripts, was the chief gust. Rama Narayanan, Sivasakthi Pandiyan, and M. Gopalakrishnan among others were present at the function Amidst the smart dance show, screening of the scenes from the directors’ films, and some thought provoking speeches

Namitha provided the visual feast with her skimpy outfit.
