The shooting of 'Robo' in the combination of Rajanikant and Shankar was launched at Chennai with a whopping budget of Rs 125 crore recently. The muhurat shot was picturised on Rajanikanth. Though the film unit planned to make the programme a simple affair, Rajani's fans reached the studio in large numbers making it a gala event. ING Run International and Ad Labs are jointly producing the film.

Aiswarya Rai was selected as heroine in the film. Another interesting information is that Arjun is playing the negative role in that film. Shankar's debut film 'Gentleman' and his next film 'Oke Okkadu' had Arjun as hero and now he turned a villain for this film.
