It is a common point always being heard among the film industry — Why there are no Telugu girls in Telugu film industry and why the native girls are not being promoted by the so called producers and directors. But this time, the same question came from a heroine of yesteryears.
MAA TV anchor Suma questioned Sumalatha on the last day of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations , 'What is the quality for a heroine to turn a Star heroine? Pat came the reply from Sumalatha that the girl should try to learn Telugu to become a Star Heroine.
Sumalatha says, 'These days we can't find any Telugu girl in the Telugu cinemas. There is every need for the producers and directors to promote Telugu girls.' The entire auditorium applauded her remarks with claps.
Jayasudha replying to the same question says, 'Present day heroines are restricting themselves to glamour as the current generation is only after glamour. We can't find fault with the present heroines.'
Suma questioned Kodi Ramakrishna to explain what is commercial cinema, he says, 'The film which was welcomed by more number of audiences, is the real commercial film. A director might be a failure once, but he should not relax. The more homework, the more successful film is the most trusted formula.'
