The famous Sri Krishna Devaraya Andhra Bashha Nilayam at Sultan Bazar has been demolished. The 106 old structure is being pulled down to pave the way for a four storied building on the same premises.

The 106 year old institution is a popular landmark in the area for the lovers of arts and literature. The ABN celebrated its centenary in 2001. The library has been functioning without any government funding all these years. The funds for the new building have been sanctioned by the previous TDP government.
