Sarathkumar who is referred to as the Supreme star has been into politics for a long time. He was an active DMK member for several years and shifted base to AIADMK and later quit it blaming opinion differences.

However, now the star has launched his political party "Agila India Samathuva makkal katchi".

The Party was launched today in Kodambakkam Raman theatre. Radhika Sarathkumar started the proceedings by lighting the Kuthu Vilakku.

The main principals are to generate interest among the public to vote, to expand scientific horizon, and to enhance agriculture. Ensuring industrial growth and thereby increasing job opportunities would also form part of the party’s agenda.

Sarathkumar has also released his party’s principles in the form of a catalogue that promises to eradicate the caste, creed, and religious differences. The flag chosen by the party is a red and yellow flag with a small white star in the top right corner.
