After a visit to Tirupathi with his wife, Selvaraghavan has started work on his new film. After 'Pudupettai,' he directed Venkatesh and Trisha in Telugu film 'Aadavaari...' but before that he made announcement about his next Tamil film project.

Titled 'Maalai Nerathu Maykkam,' it was to feature Karthi and Sandhya , who showed keen interest in the film. When Reema Sen announced that she was to act in this film, everyone was shocked. What about Sandhya then?

The new title is 'Aayirathil Oruvan,' the title of an old MGR hit. Someone had already registered this title at the chamber and Selvaraghavan has acquired it from him formally.

It is said Dhanush has an important role in 'Ayirathil Oruvan.' Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Lyrics are by Na Muthukumar. The cinematographer has not yet been finalized.
