The faces in ‘Positive’ have been selected according to the requirements of the character, says scriptwriter S.N. Swami.

Positive,’ says director V.K. Prakash, is the “chemistry of love.” The ad-man who turned director with ‘Punaradhivasam’ would also like to call his new movie “a romantic thriller.”

“I am thoroughly enjoying the process of making this film. It would be one for the new generation,” said Mr. Prakash who has already completed 14 days of shoot.

The cast of ‘Positive’ is packed with youngsters. Actor Jayasurya plays the role of Assistant Police Commissioner in the movie.

“I was surprised when the producer and director told me that I would be playing a cop in the movie. It is an exciting experience especially working in a film penned by S.N. Swami. Swami Sir had proved through his ‘CBI Diarykuripu’ that a movie does not need dance sequences and songs. It needs only a good story,” he said.

Agrees Mr. Swami: “People were asking me why I had not written a movie for the youth. I told them that no producer had approached me with such a proposal. I had worked with people who came with the dates of leading stars. The faces in ‘Positive’ were selected according to the requirements of the character,” he said.

The movie also brings Bangalore-based Fabulance Entertainment Private Ltd into the Malayalam film industry. Rajmohan, producer, says that their aim is to make good movies.

Encouraging corporate groups to take up new projects in Malayalam, senior actor Jagathy Sreekumar said that corporate companies can help revive the industry which had been passing through tough times recently.

“But take care to produce movies by having a clear idea about the market. Think about the audience and craft movies according to their choice. Simple tricks would not sell here,” he said.

Urging the youth not to get carried away by the glamour quotient in the industry, Jagathy asked them to shed their ego. “Respect your seniors and do not insist on living only in air-conditioned rooms,” he said.

Besides Jagathy Sreekumar and Jayasurya, the cast includes Saikumar, Manikuttan, Skandha, T.G. Ravi, Mala Aravindan, Augustine, Boban Alamoodan, Shari, Vaani Kishore , Ayilya G. Nair, Bindu Panicker, and Alsabith. R. Ganesh is behind the camera. Music is by Alex Paul. Sarath Vayalar has written the lyrics.
