You have gone on record to say that you're open to working with Shahid Kapur in the future. But, then, how come you haven't spoken to each other after the last day of the shoot for Jab We Met?
That so-called cold war between us was blown out of proportion. In fact, we had lunch together too, but the media doesn't know about this. So when we read that we barely interacted at the shoot, we laughed it off. We are friends, we do talk occasionally.

Are you still in touch with him?
Yes, we're still in touch. And why not? If something doesn't work out, fine, it's okay.. but friends do remain friends yaar. That's the beauty of a relationship.

Saif Ali Khan has no objections?
Well, I think he's too mature a person. He's beyond worrying about whether I speak to Shahid or not.

How come Deepika Padukone - and not you - has been finalised for Saif Ali Khan's first home production to be directed by Imtiaz Ali?
Really? This is news to me. Imtiaz is away in the US for two months. It's the director's call to cast an actor in the role he wants.

Milenge Milenge is one of the earliest films you signed with Shahid Kapur.. why is it on the back-burner?
I really don't know about Milenge Milenge.. why is it stuck. It's been four-five years now. I feel bad about this, it's the first film I shot with Shahid.

Do you get upset with all the stories about you in the papers now-a-days?
It does hurt to read reports which are not true. But I don't blame anyone for that. I understand that the media is doing its job.

The grapevine is buzzing about Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan now.
But is it true? (Pause) She was so lovely in Parineeta.

I believe you've buried the hatchet with John Abraham You've agreed to do a film with him although he was quite rude about you on Koffee with Karan.
Koffee with Karan is a fun show. It's to be taken in a lighter vein. I've no hassles doing a film with John. As of now, I've agreed to the concept. The producers will revert to me after the script is complete.. and then I'll take the final call. Otherwise, we'll move on to another subject.

There's also this conjecture that you'll be playing the role of Ranbir Kapoor's sister for the RK banner.
Ranbir is a very good actor. He's a Kapoor, acting is in our genes. He's done the Kapoor family proud with his debut. Two different films are being planned, one with Ranbir and another one with me.We're looking for new directors. Dad won't be directing either of the projects, he'd rather oversee the productions.

Apparently, Aditya Chopra is upset with the cast of Tashan for exposing the look of the film's characters. Really?
I don't think the look has been revealed. People don't know what the look is. So, the question of Adi being upset doesn't arise.

Where does a Golmaal Returns figure in your scheme of things?
I haven't done a comedy in a long time. Besides, Golmaal is like a brand, the first part did very well. Also, I had a wonderful experience working with the producers, Ashtavinayak Cinevision, during Jab We Met. I have a comfort zone with them. I'm doing four to five films with them.
