Shooting of Maha Yagnam directed by Krishna Thota and produced by Ranga Ravinder Gupta and Sandhya Ravinder Gupta on the banner of Sri Tirumala Movie Creations with Nazar and Sita in the lead was formally launched at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad on February 11. Dr D Ramanaidu gave the clap while Srinivas Kartikeya switched on the camera for the muhurat shot picturised on Sita under the honorary direction of NV Subba Raju.

Producer says, 'Ranadeep, Vamsi, Adarsh and Aditya of Happy Days -fame are playing heroes. We are sure that the film would attract all classes of audiences.' Director says, 'Several people plan to eradicate corruption. But sometimes they would be forced to compromise. But the story deals with the fight against corruption by a mother.' The first schedule would continue till February 18.

Second schedule would begin from February 22 to March 17, with which the shooting would be wrapped up.' Suddala Ashokteja, MS Narayana, Krishna Bhagawan, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Rallapalli, Srinivasa Reddy, Bhanupriya, Jayalalitha, Madhumita and others are in the cast. Dialogues are by Dasam Venkat Rao, cinematography is by Surender Reddy, music is by Vandemataram Srinivas while story, screenplay and direction are by Krishna Thota.
