Indrajith is to do the lead role in Nayakan, to be directed by Lijo Pellisserry, the son of late actor Jose Pellisserry. (The film will be Lijo's debut venture as a director).

To be produced by Anoop John, Nayakan will have Dhanya as the leading lady, while the cast will also include Jagathy Sreekumar, Siddique, Thilakan, Cochin Haneefa, Bheeman Raghu etc.

The film, which is likely to target youngsters and the family audience, will start rolling in the first week of December and will be released early next year.

While Kochi and Ottapaalam would be the prime locations, Nayakan will also have some portions shot in Malaysia.
