Deepika Padukone made a dream start to her career with Om Shanthi Om. She has not looked back after that. She is now one of the leading heroines in Bollywood and she commands remuneration on par with Kareena Kapoor
Some big producers from Tollywood approached her with an idea of casting her in one of their films. The producer of a big budget film, in which a top young hero is acting, also approached her. Padukone agreed to act in a Telugu film.
But her remuneration shocked the producers. She asked for a cool 5 crore. Not only that, she said that she was very busy right now and can give dates only after one year. The dumbfounded producers naturally made a hasty retreat.
