The actor may have delivered a flop but that has not stopped him from getting ‘big’ films, reports Prithwish Ganguly
Harman Baweja’s debut film may have sank at the box office but this new kid seems to have the knack for landing big offers. Harman has now been approached by Farhan Akhtar to star in one of his next projects.
Harman confirms, “It is true that I have had talks with Farhan about one of his films but it’s too early to comment anything on it. The film will be on the lines of the films that Farhan is known to make.”
We also decided to probe Farhan’s long time friend and producer Ritesh Sidhwani for some more information about the project. “It is too early to talk about this now,” was his short reply.
Anyways these are clear signs that Harman seems to have earned a lot of confidence from the industry people. He also has three other films in his kitty like Anees Bazmee’s next,Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film and Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Raashee?
We asked Ashutosh why he went ahead with Harman despite his debut debacle. “What I saw of Harman in the film, I liked his acting. He has a good comic timing and since my film’s a romantic comedy, he suited the role perfectly. There’s a flair in him and I think comedy will come naturally to him which is very essential for What’s Your Raashee?,” he says.
We also asked Ashutosh whether he was still confident about having Priyanka Chopra and Harman in his lead with reports circulating in the industry that the ‘good friends’ have fallen out. “Were they in a relationship ever?” Ashutosh says, adding: “It really does not matter what is written. When Aishwarya got married people said that her career would end but look at her track record. Look at how people went to see Jodhaa Akbar and appreciated her performance.”
