For Kollywood actresses aspiring to get a foothold in Bollywood, ‘Chetpet’ seems to be the success mantra these days! And the credit for this goes to a very great extent to Asin
In Chetpet in Chennai is an apartment block that’s now seen by many Bollywood-aspirants as a lucky apartment block. Actress Asin , who had bought a house earlier in the block, hadn’t cared to sell or vacate the apartment, obviously as land prices were increasing in the area with each passing day and retaining the apartment for some time was the wisest thing to do. In the meantime rumours started spreading in Kollywood that it was Asin’s Chetpet house that worked as some kind of a lucky charm, resulting in Asin getting busier and busier as an actress.
The rumour spread and actresses started eyeing for an accommodation in the same block of apartments. And the lucky one to secure an apartment there was Lakshmi Rai. When a house was vacated in the block, she did not stop to think twice and procured the house by paying a high price. And lo and behold! Lakshmi Rai got an offer from Bollywood.
The latest buzz about the ‘Chetpet factor’ is that not just actresses, but actors too are bent on trying it out. Or why did actor Srikanth go and rent a house in the apartment block?
