Even though her wardrobe in Dostana consisted of shorts, tank tops and tees, Priyanka Chopra felt overdressed in the movie that also stars Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham .
"Since ‘Dostana’ is shot in Miami, my wardrobe has a beach vibe. I wore a lot of shorts, tank tops and tees. And even then, I felt overdressed. There, women go to the supermarket wearing bikinis," Priyanka is quoted as saying in a report.
Miami is the setting for the latest big-budget movie produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani and revolves around two guys who pretend to be gay to get accommodation and end up falling for Priyanka
Priyanka refused to wear a bikini for the shot. The actress, who is wary of wearing anything too revealing, said the swimsuit she wore also had to be reworked.
"We picked up the swimsuit in a store in Miami. It was really small and itsy-bitsy. So we picked up two and Prasad, designer Manish Malhotra 's tailor, sewed them together to make a one-piece, right there on the location.
"The choice of the swimsuit's gold colour - reminiscent of Ursula Andress's in ‘Dr No’ and Bo Derek's in ‘10’ - was a coincidence, she said. "We settled for gold because my skin is dusky and a perfect foil for the colour.”
The swimsuit also required Priyanka to work on her figure. The former Miss World did not lose any weight for the movie, but admits that she worked out to ensure a toned figure.
"I really worked out for Fashion and ‘Dostana’ because I wanted a toned look. So, even though I had no competition from another girl in ‘Dostana’, I hit the gym with the boys.”
Though Priyanka may have drawn the line at a two-piece, Dostana will sport no shortage of sculpted bodies on display. Another preview peek at shots from the movie shows off John's perfectly toned body.
John goes topless in the movie. "John can afford to. He has a fantastic body. He's worked really hard on it. So has Abhishek," says Priyanka
