The very mention of Namitha's name sends goosebumps down people's spines nowadays and director of Jaganmohini has made full use of that.
The prince (hero Raja) comes to a seaside village to catch the sea pirates. There he sees the pretty pearl diver Namitha and falls under her spell. Coming to know of this, the king kills Namitha and arranges his son's wedding with Nila. The ghost Namitha appears and plays with their lives in the rest of the story.
Namitha has taken training to do the pearl diving scenes. Special camera was brought from Mumbai to shoot the underwater scenes of Namitha
Since she shot very soon after learning, Namitha was not very comfortable under the water and felt a bit breathless, but she took pains to complete her shots.
"According to the story, the prince went all breathless on seeing Namitha In reality, the viewers will go all restless on seeing Namitha doing her pearl diving scenes on screen!," says cinematographer / director N K Viswanathan.
