The leaders from political parties like Congress and TDP were very cautious and guarded in their comments against Chiranjeevi all these days. The reason was that Chiranjeevi fans were present in large numbers in all political parties and he was still seen as a mere actor. As such, any adverse comment against him might force the party cadre to desert the party and jump on to the Chiranjeevi bandwagon.
But with the prospect of Chiranjeevi entering politics now slowly turning into a reality, leaders cutting across political parties are ready to take him headlong on policies and principles.
A senior minister, Geetha Reddy said openly yesterday that in politics, Chiranjeevi does not command any respect nor does he carry any weight. He is no match for the charismatic and dynamic chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy.
