It came as a big shock when the queen of sleaze and the undisputed and unrivalled porn star in south India, the one and only Shakeela quit acting in Malayalam films. The films were actually soft porn blue films masquerading as mainstream cinema.
She later moved to Tollywood and appeared in some films in roles that required her to replay some of her acts from Malayalam movies. However Shakeela has now more or less stopped acting, but for an occasional appearance. Even in her rare appearances, she is not doing any vulgar scenes but playing some very clean and respectable roles.
In Lakshmiputhrudu and in Kalidasu , she was seen fully covered from head to toe, either in saris or in salwar kameezes. In Lakshmiputrudu, she played the role of a receptionist at an Ayurvedic clinic. In Kalidasu, Shakeela played the role of a MLAs wife.
