Veteran director Fazil, who made his debut as director with the Malayalam film, Manjil Virinja Pookkal, has introduced several great actors to the South Indian film industry like Mohanlal, Baby Shalini , Nadia Moidu and Kunchako Boban. He has made films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu and won several awards for his films.
Some of his films include Ente Mamattikuttiyammakku, Nokkethaa Dhoorathu Kannum Nattu, Harikrishnas, Ennenum Kannettante etc. His last Tamil film was Oru Naal Oru Kanavu, starring Srikanth and Soniya Agarwal. After a hiatus of around three years, the filmmaker is now directing a Tamil film, to be produced by Priyadarshan and starring Prithviraj and Mamta Mohandas in the lead.
