You’ve studied medicine, been a model and actor? How do you manage these multiple roles?
For me, everything fell in place. I never planned anything. I always wanted to be a doctor and studied hard, got good marks and got into medical school. I was finishing my studies when modelling happened and thereafter acting was a natural progression.
What’s motherhood like?
After Kiara was born, I learnt to be very patient. Also, one becomes very responsible and careful; you don’t want to take any risks when there is a little one involved.
You recently had your second child, so how does it feel to be a mother all over again?
It feels great! Zhiaan was born pre-term like Kiara. He was in NICU for 18 days with several infections so it was a bit scary. But now he has gained weight and is healthy. Zhiaan looks exactly like Kiara when she was a baby and Kiara looks a lot like her father.
You have been an inspiration to your sister Aarzoo. Do you see your daughter Kiara following in your model footsteps as well?
Kiara is very young right now to decide what she wants to be when she grows up. She does say that she wants to be a doctor and a model. I believe that every girl should be independent to choose what she wants and I will support her in whatever she wants to do.
How supportive has your husband been?
For any person to be successful, the spouse has to be supportive. My husband has always pushed me in the right direction and supported me wholeheartedly. Most importantly, he has trusted me and never been insecure.
What’s next up for you?
Since Zhiaan was born, I haven’t been working much because I wasn’t very comfortable leaving him alone. Now that he is two months old, I am doing a couple of shows. Recently I also preformed with Sandip Soparrkar onstage for International Dance Day. I love dancing and have learnt kathak.
