Chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy is now a bit worried. He had been the chief minister for nearly four years now. He has not had much dissent and also did not suffer from any groupism so far. Even his image as an able administrator has now taken a slight beating.
But of late, YSR seems to be facing some form of dissent too. It is on account of the separate Telangana issue. Some senior congress leaders and also the Telangana congress leaders are coming up with all kinds of contradictory statements in public. The talk of second SRC, the imminent entry of Chiranjeevi into politics, the massive corruption charges, are all hurting the image of the party.
For the first time, people are now taking the issue of corruption very seriously. The corruption is now running into 100s of crores. Many illegal land deals and the regularization of lands in favour of congress leaders have also not gone down well with the public. Even the congress party high command, is for the first time, lending an ear to all the dissidents of Y S Rjashekar Reddy.
