The beleaguered chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy seems to be out of danger, at least for now. The congress high command has demonstrated by its actions and gestures that the party is in no mood to disturb him.

The communist parties are baying for his blood but the congress has rejected their demand politely but firmly. While the congress cannot antagonize the Left parties as they are propping up the government at the centre, the situation is too delicate in the state and he congress does not want to take any hasty step that might affect its prospects in the 2009 assembly elections.
