The unprecedented media lash back over his comments has had the desired effect. The CM who was hell-bent upon defending his comments and sticking to them, has finally had a change of heart and has apologized saying he is taking back his comment s if they had hurt the sentiment of Babu.
But what made YS to change his mind is the large-scale uproar both in the media and elsewhere. Even feedback from party workers gave the news that many people were not in agreement with his comments. Women in particular, irrespective of party affiliations are none too happy with the language and tenor of his speech.
YSR realized that the issue was not going to die down so soon. And if the issue spread to the national media too, it would only further dent his image and also bring him down in front to the party high command. The congress party boss is a woman and YS knows only too well that it would not go down well with her and he would have to answer for his comments. And hence his quick climb down.
