The two leaders of the CPM and CPI are marinating strange silence. They normally react to everything under the sun. But their silence over on issue is deafening to say the least.
The issue is about the leadership of the communist parties.
While the parties claim that they are for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden, and that they are for empowering the poor and backward classes, the parties have been more or less led only by upper caste leaders.
A Telugu daily ‘Surya’ raised this issue on Wednesday. It questioned why the communist parties are not allowing anyone from backward classes and communities to bag top posts in their parties. The parties are being led by the two dominant castes – Kamma and Reddy for the past so many years.
