After a long time, Pooja Bedi was seen in the company of a male friend at the premiere of M Night Shyamalan’s Lady In The Water last Wednesday.
“Sorry to disappoint you, guys. But Sameer Gupta is not the special man of my life. His father and my mother have known each other for decades, and his dad is like a father figure to me. In fact, Sameer is dating somebody else who came along for the screening, too,” says Pooja
Sameer is the owner of SBC Media, which is producing four of my TV shows with Bedi. Not too long ago, Gupta was dating Shruti Seth. “Yes, but they have broken up. I wish Shruti and he would get together again. Shruti is a lovely girl.”
Ready to mingle
So Pooja is still single then. “Yes, unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I am a die-hard romantic. My staple diet since I was a child has been Mills and Boons novels. I’m waiting for my Prince Charming to come and sweep me off my feet.
A few months ago, I was linked to a Pakistani guy. Dolly Thakore asked me to show this guy from Pakistan around, he was in Mumbai for a couple of days, and I took him around the party circuit. I guess that’s how the rumours started. But you don’t fall in love with every guy you meet.”

So then let’s talk work. Now that Just Pooja has ended, what’s next? “No!” Pooja sounds extremely upset. “Who has told you that the show has ended? “Milind Soman’s company E_Motion Pictures might or might not produce the show, but it’s definitely going to continue.
We are sprucing up the show and completely revamping it — a new format, new look and more angles. The new show will not be on a set but something different and might take a break for a month before coming back.”
Besides her talk show, she’s got other plans up her sleeve as well. “I’m in talks with a TV channel for three reality-based shows and a travel-based chat show. The reality shows are based on foreign formats. I am very excited about all my shows.”
Will she be acting in TV serials? “No. I have been refusing film and soap offers as I don’t want to play any character but just be me. I don’t like sitting inside somebody else’s mind space. I am enjoying being me,” says the feisty Pooja
