Rupali Ganguly has enrolled herself at Shiamak Davar's Dance Academy in order to overcome her inhibitions about dancing. She is supposed to attend classes, held at St Andrew’s School twice a week, but somehow she doesn't quite manage to make it on time. Just recently she was punished for reaching late. And this wasn't the first time either, the actress has been punished several times before.

Incidentally, Rupali's younger brother Vijay is one of the dance teachers at the academy, and he's the one who very often punishes her. The punishment? Well, the good old one of being made to stand outside the class. Rupali, however, laughs off the incident. She says, “I am very proud of the fact that my younger brother is teaching me how to dance.”

That's fine, but what about the regular latecoming, followed by the punishments? Rupali replies, “Actually, my brother wants every student to be bang on time for the class. I get late sometimes. The last time I reached late, he simply refused to teach me the dance steps. He asked me to sit outside the class, as punishment, and only watch the others dance.”

Rupali further adds, “I stay at Worli and the dance academy is in Bandra. Although I apologised for being late due to heavy traffic, he refused to accept my explanation. I was upset but decided against fighting with him at that time. Moreover, I was really amused to watch my younger brother giving dance lessons to the students.”

However, Rupali's brother gave us a different version of the story. "Actually, we have half an hour warm-up sessions before every dance class. My sister avoided it four times consecutively. I guess, just because I am her brother she takes the class for granted. At last, I had to put my foot down," he says.

There is another reason for the warm-up sessions. Vijay explains, "The warm-up sessions are mandatory for the body. Without doing warm-up sessions, performing tough dance steps would harm the body. We are strictly instructed to follow the rule, so I was bound to do it."
