Mammootty and Sneha’s onscreen chemistry in the Malayalam movie Thuruppu Gulan was the major highlight of that movie. Mammootty and Sneha have now already started working on their bilingual movie, titled Vande Mataram in Malayalam and Aruvadai in Tamil. The movie is Mammootty’s comeback film in Tamil.
Vande Mataram/ Aruvadai was being directed by Karthik. Kartik has worked as assistant to veteran filmmaker Mani Rathnam, has completed his Masters in direction from the Paris Film Institute and completed a course in cinematography from the Pune Film Institute. This was planned as his directional debut movie, but he is no longer associated with the film.
So the producers of Vande Mataram/ Aruvadai are now looking for a replacement for Karthik. Once a new director joins the team, we will have to wait and see if the shots already taken will be retained by the new director.
