The only draw back to the city of destiny-Visakhapatnam is not having an international airport until now. It is soon to be cleared with a new terminal building which will be completed by this year end.

Union minister of state for Civil Aviation Mr. Praful Patel in his latest visit to city on 17th of this month, reviewed the progress of the terminal construction activities.

In an interview to the media here, he said that once the terminal was ready for operations, direct flights to from Singapore, SriLanka and other destinations on the globe will be introduced.

Srilankan airlines and Singapore airlines have already expressed their interest to run the flights to Visakhapatnam.
